Sign up early because they are only taking the first 10 people. This clinic will be working with Sara McLarty and Misty Becerra. One video taping your swim the other working with your stroke. I think it is going to be a pretty good clinic and have already signed up. It is $50.

I am signed up for St. Anthony's and considering doing a tri in Gainesville in February. So, I suppose I need a wetsuit. My biggest question is whether I should get sleeveless or full? I don't know that I'll be using it much in truly cold, water and I would think the freedom of movement and feel for the water of sleeveless would be better. I have no idea though, as I've never used a wetsuit. Any thoughts?

They're expanding to a new place in Largo--at the corner of Gulf to Bay and Belcher. They'll be in their new place sometime in March...just in time for the opening of triathlon season (by the way, they sponsor a bunch of triathlons on the Gulf).

This is a REALLY great triathlete's store (as well as a roadie store)--they've got just about everything you might need. Right now the store is about the ...

5 years ago, after finishing the Tri-America oly at Disney I had the notion that maybe I could do an Ironman. A few marathons and 4 years later I signed up for the inaugural November race in Phoenix. Last Sunday I completed the quest and have earned the right to say I am an Ironman. Uh, I didn't say I was a fast Ironman....

My training partner Tracy and our wives flew to Phoenix on Friday, went straight to Tempe Town Park, saw the swim course (down butterflies, down), registered, got weighed ...

It rocked the house! Swim was crazy and awesome. The most fun I've ever had during a race swim. There is nothing like jumping into the gulf of Mexico with 2500 of your closest friends all fighting for free water. Good times!!

The bike was good. Headwind for at least 70 of the total miles, and crappy roads that launched everyone's bottles. The volunteers were awesome everywhere though.

The run was good until the sun went down, then it became a pure mental game. The 13.1 out/back ...

This Sunday, October 26th, several of us will be meeting at 7:15am to leave out at 7:30 for a 30 mile (+/-) ride. We should be done and back by 9:30 at the latest in case you have somewhere to go. This will be a triathlon-bike friendly ride and we will try to keep it around 18mph or so, a nice easy pace and try to make it no-drop within reason.

Meet at and return to the Southgate Shopping Center in Lakeland. See you there. Call me at 863-712-1505 (Cell) if you have any questions.

I really liked this triathlon. It wasn't a big one, but it was pretty well-organized. The downtown area where the post-race party was held was kinda cute.

The water was blissfully warm despite the 58 degree temps at the start! Egads. This tri has the sprint and International races the same day, so the sprint peeps only do one loop around the lake, but the International peeps do one loop, emerge from the water, circle a buoy, then get back in for another loop. It was kinda hard to see the ...

Or a 40 mile course that does include sugarloaf and buckhill. Personally it doesnt make any difference to me. Just an FYI this will be a no drop ride and we will definitely stop a few times to make sure everyone is well hydrated and feeling good. Both ...

Here's my plan. This is my first tri in 12+ years and I didn't pay attention to this stuff back then.

T1 -- Shoes on towel. water bottle to spray off feet next to shoes. Helmet on Aero Bars with shades inside. 1 water bottle and 1 gatorade bottle on bike. neither full since the ride is so short. Put on shoes first. Put on helmet and shades and go!

I'll have a gel around 2/3 of way through bike to fuel me for the run (which will be the longest leg for me because I'm slow).
